About Us
Our Story
It started on an ordinary Saturday afternoon in Essen.
Our daughter had worn the same dress twice, and the seams were already giving out. A few weeks earlier, a t-shirt with a bear print had gone the same way: faded, stretched, in the bin after a handful of washes. That evening, sorting her closet into what still fit and what didn't, we noticed something. Almost none of it was going to last her the season, let alone get handed down to anyone.
So we asked ourselves a simple question. What were we teaching her about the things she owns?
We went looking for clothing done right: fabric that holds up, a supply chain you could actually trace, pricing that made sense once you knew what went into it. What we found instead was a narrow set of options. Expensive labels selling the idea of ethics more than the practice of it. "Eco" kids' lines that quietly cut corners past the label. Fast fashion dressed up in nicer packaging. Nothing that did what it claimed, at a price that respected the people buying it.
We decided to build it ourselves. One of us brought the eye for design and detail. The other brought the discipline to get the sourcing, the certifications, and the numbers right. Between the two of us, that was enough to start.
We named it gravisk, from gravity. Not the kind that pulls you down. The kind that keeps you grounded. Clothing with actual weight behind it: in the fabric, in the sourcing, and in what we're willing to say when it matters.
That's still the whole idea. Quality you can see. Values you can trust. A wardrobe built to be worn, not replaced.
What We Stand For
gravisk creates versatile, organic essentials with radical transparency: quality you can see, values you can trust, design that fits your entire life.
That means four things to us:
Building quality that lasts. Timeless essentials in premium organic materials, made to be worn for years, not seasons.
Showing our work. Radical transparency in materials, manufacturing, pricing, and supply chain. No secrets.
Making versatility the standard. One wardrobe. Every part of your life.
Carrying weight when it matters. When we speak on feminism, on things people don't say out loud, or on subjects we believe deserve to be named, we say it clearly, once, and let it stand.
