We make clothes. But gravisk was never only about clothes.
The name comes from “gravity”, not the force that pulls you down, but the one that keeps you where you are. Grounded. Present. Strong. Emotional. Sometimes it’s a sentence you can’t stop thinking about. Sometimes it’s a person: an old friend, an old memory, or a stranger on the street. Very often, for me, it’s a song.
There are songs that stop me mid-step. Songs that bring tears I didn’t plan for, or joy I didn’t expect. Songs that make me sit still and finally ask the question I’ve been avoiding.
One of them is “Nutshell” by Alice in Chains. I’ve listened to it almost every day for thirty years. It hasn’t worn out. If anything, it weighs more now than it did the first time. It’s quiet and heavy and honest, and every time it finds a different part of me. That’s the kind of song that becomes part of how you see yourself.
That’s the feeling we try to put into what we make. Not noise. Weight.
Clothes that feel like they belong to your life, not just to your closet. Pieces you reach for when you want to feel like yourself, not a version of yourself for someone else.
This space, What Holds Us, is where we’ll write about the things that hold us. Music first, because it’s closest to home. But also books, places, ideas, people, tears, resistance and the things we believe deserve to be said out loud, once and clearly. And food… yes, food. I love to eat and I love to cook. There’s something deeply honest about a meal you make for the people you care about. No filters, no performance. Just heat, time, music and attention.
You won’t see a posting schedule here. No filler, no content for the sake of content. We’ll write when something is worth it. When it has weight. When it feels like one of those songs.
This isn’t a brand blog in the usual sense. It’s more like a small room we’re leaving open, with a chair, a light, and a speaker. Come in when you need a moment that isn’t scrolling. Play something that matters to you. And if you feel like it, tell us what holds you.
